Information Habits generates from your records

Habits may also generate or calculate information from the records you provide, including:

  • streak status and milestone badges;
  • next-dose countdown information based on your medication schedule;
  • charts and analytics;
  • weekly/monthly summaries and PDFs;
  • contextual content recommendations;
  • optional AI-generated trends, correlations, suggestions and other enabled outputs.

Generated or inferred information can itself be personal information when it is linked to your account.

Habits applies PII masking before supported AI processing to filter certain direct identifiers, including:

  • names;
  • phone numbers;
  • health IDs.

The product reference applies PII masking to supported AI processing including:

  • chat;
  • insights;
  • reports;
  • Daily Plan generation.

PII masking is not the same as anonymisation.

Relevant health or tracking context may still be processed to provide an optional AI feature you have enabled.

Image limitation

This Policy does not claim that identifiers visible inside uploaded images are automatically removed unless that specific image-processing behaviour is verified.

The current Habits product stores AI conversation history server-side so previous AI conversations can remain available in the app.

Turning AI off controls optional AI processing going forward.

This Policy does not state that switching AI off automatically deletes previous AI conversation history unless that behaviour is verified.

Habits lets you export supported logged health data in:

  • JSON;
  • CSV.

The export feature provides a portable copy of supported data.

It does not necessarily include every original file or media asset, such as original Progress Photo image files, unless the export functionality specifically includes them.

A self-service export does not replace any statutory access rights you may have under applicable privacy law.

Your privacy and permission choices

PUBLIC COPY — FINAL WORDING MUST MATCH ACTUAL CONTROLS

Depending on the feature, Habits provides choices such as:

  • decline or disable optional AI;
  • control AI access by category;
  • review/clear the application-level AI access history;
  • manage Apple Health permissions through Apple settings;
  • disconnect Google Calendar;
  • manage iPhone notification permissions;
  • use JSON/CSV export;
  • delete your Habits account.

Changing or revoking a permission may stop future use of that feature.

It does not necessarily delete information already stored before the change unless the relevant deletion flow or law requires that deletion.

Habits includes permanent account deletion with re-authentication.

Depending on your sign-in method, the current product supports:

  • password re-entry;
  • Apple re-authentication;
  • Google re-authentication.

Deleting the Habits account invalidates active Habits sessions.

App Store subscription

Deleting your Habits account does not automatically cancel an Apple auto-renewable subscription.

If you have Habits Pro through Apple, review/manage the App Store subscription separately.

Deletion timing

If a privacy breach occurs, Habits will assess and respond to the incident in accordance with applicable law.

Where New Zealand law requires notification because a privacy breach has caused, or is likely to cause, serious harm, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and affected people as required, subject to any applicable exceptions.

Habits does not make a blanket claim that it is HIPAA compliant.

If Habits later provides services in a workflow involving a HIPAA covered entity or business associate and Protected Health Information, the applicable service, contract and regulatory requirements will need to be assessed for that use.

We may update this Privacy Policy when our product, providers, legal obligations or data practices change.

When we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this Policy and take any additional notice/consent steps required by applicable law.

We do not change the “Last updated” date merely to make the Policy appear newer.
