The short version
The current product source documents Category Streaks for:
- Medication;
- Hydration;
- Food;
- Exercise;
- Sleep.
It also documents a separate Mood logging streak.
Milestone badges are tied to the Category Streak system.
Different trackers use different counting rules
For the currently straightforward rules:
- Hydration counts when recorded fluid reaches the configured daily Hydration goal;
- Food counts when at least one Food entry is logged;
- Exercise counts when at least one Exercise entry is logged;
- Sleep counts when at least one Sleep entry is logged.
A Today checklist item is not automatically a streak day
The Habits Today dashboard has a configurable checklist.
The current streak system is a separate product feature with its own active-day rules.
That matters because the two systems do not use the same category list.
Today checklist
The source documents eight configurable Today items:
- Medication;
- Protein;
- Movement;
- Hydration;
- Mood;
- Sleep;
- Weight;
- Nutrition.
Category Streaks
The source documents five:
- Medication;
- Hydration;
- Food;
- Exercise;
- Sleep.
So this guide does not assume:
checking a Today item = earning a streak day.
Hydration uses a goal-based active day
The current source says a Hydration streak day counts when:
total fluid intake meets or exceeds the daily Hydration goal.
That is different from:
logged one drink.
What the streak means
A Hydration streak reflects:
days where recorded fluid total reached the configured tracking goal.
It does not prove:
- the goal is medically appropriate;
- you were medically well hydrated;
- you were not dehydrated.
Food uses a logging-based active day
The current source says a Food streak day counts when:
at least one Food log entry exists.
That is a tracking-consistency rule.
It does not mean:
- nutrition was complete;
- Protein target was met;
- calorie target was medically appropriate;
- every meal was logged;
- the day was “healthy.”
Exercise uses a logging-based active day
The current source says an Exercise streak day counts when:
at least one Exercise log entry exists.
That is different from:
- generating an AI workout;
- saving a workout;
- viewing a Program.
A streak should represent a recorded Exercise session, not merely planning one.
What it does not mean
An Exercise streak does not prove:
- a clinical Exercise target was met;
- the Exercise intensity was medically appropriate;
- muscle was preserved;
- injury risk was reduced.
Sleep uses a logging-based active day
The current source says a Sleep streak day counts when:
at least one Sleep log entry exists.
The streak is therefore about:
logging continuity
—not whether:
- a sleep-duration goal was met;
- Sleep quality was Good/Excellent;
- a sleep problem was resolved.
Mood uses its own logging streak
The Mood feature separately documents:
- a current consecutive-day Mood logging streak;
- a Week Entry Count.
Mood is not listed among the five Category Streaks used for milestone badges.
This guide therefore does not claim:
- Mood earns Category Streak badges;
- Mood shares the exact same streak service;
- Mood uses the 90-day lookback rule.
This guide does not currently claim Category Streaks for:
- Weight;
- Progress Photos;
- Measurements;
- Side Effects.
The Today checklist containing Weight does not itself prove a Weight streak exists.
Likewise:
- Mood has a separately documented logging streak;
- Today Protein/Nutrition do not prove separate Protein/Nutrition streaks.
Why this matters
Do not infer a streak merely because a Habits feature can be logged daily.
Badges recognise streak milestones
The current product source documents milestone badges alongside the five Category Streaks.
Badges appear as a streak grows.
What a badge means
A milestone badge recognises continuity under the product's streak rules.
A streak tells you about a specific Habits tracking rule
Examples:
- Food streak:
- at least one Food log;
- Exercise streak:
- at least one Exercise log;
- Sleep streak:
- at least one Sleep log.
Those rules are intentionally simple.
A streak does not mean:
- you met every health goal;
- you followed a complete nutrition plan;
- your Exercise met clinical guidelines;
- your Sleep was sufficient;
- your treatment is working.
Streaks should be interpreted as:
tracking continuity
not:
a score for your health.
A streak can reset without erasing your progress
Life changes.
Logging can be incomplete.
A missed tracker day does not erase:
- the records you already created;
- the progress already visible in Habits;
- the value of returning to tracking.
Habits should use streaks as a lightweight continuity cue, not as punishment.
This guide does not currently claim:
- streak freezes;
- grace days;
- paid streak repair;
- coins;
- leaderboards;
- social streak competitions.
Those features are not in the verified Habits product source.
Streaks and badges are currently included in Free and Pro
The current plan matrix includes:
Streaks + Badges
in both:
- Free;
- Pro.
This Product Guide should not use streaks as a Pro-only upgrade claim.
Streaks & Badges questions
Which Habits trackers have Category Streaks?
The current source documents Category Streaks for:
- Medication;
- Hydration;
- Food;
- Exercise;
- Sleep.
Keep the record going — without turning the streak into the goal.
Habits streaks are designed to show continuity in selected tracking behaviors.
Small print:
Streaks and badges are product tracking features. They are not medical scores, treatment-adherence assessments or guarantees of health outcomes.
